99 Cahaya di Langit Eropa
I’ve finished reading this book, 99 Cahaya di Langit Eropa. I love the story, and I love the place that described in this book. Let's say subhanallah, because there is God’s greatness in every places that is told in this book.
I’ll tell you
the synopsis of this book:
Hanum
and Rangga are the youth from Indonesia who live in Vienna, Austria. Rangga (Hanum’s
husband) continue his doctoral studies in Europe. Hanum is jobless. So, she
spend her time to go around Vienna. She visit the places that stores the
history of Islam with her friend Fatma Pasha (a Turkey who has been living in
Vienna). One day, they went to Kahlenberg, a small hill which is part of a
cluster of the Alps. From Kahlenberg, they could see the whole of Vienna.
Hanum
journey continued when she was with Rangga visited Paris, France. Rangga will
attend the conference about his research. In Paris, she meet Marion Latimer (a
mualaf from France). Hanum and Marion visit the places that related with the
triumph of Islam in Europe in the past. They visit Musee de Louvre or Louvre
Museum.
Rangga
and Hanum’s trip didn’t stop here. Because of their curiosity of the glory of
Islam in Europe, they come to see Cordoba and Granada, in Andalusia or Spain.
Both cities are witness to the triumph of Islam in Europe. In Cordoba there is Mezquita,
a big mosque turned into a cathedral after falling into the hands of King
Ferdinand. While in Granada there is Alhambra, a magnificent fort which implies
how magnificent Islam in Europe in the past.
And
the last city is Istanbul, Turkey. In Istanbul they visit Hagia Sophia, a
magnificent building that was once a mosque and a church, which later became a
museum until now.
99 Cahaya di Langit Eropa tell me about Islam rahmatan lil alamin. I really enjoy the
story about Hanum and Rangga’s trip in Europe. Europe isn’t about Eiffel Tower,
Colleseum, San Siro Stadium, Gondola in Venezia, Berlin Wall, Mozart, and much
more. From this book I found the secrets of Islam that closed. From this book I
knew that Europe save a million mysteries about Islam.
So, read it if you want to know the one that you never
knew. I swear, it’s so interesting and the story will increase your sense of love
towards Islam.
